The boundary lines have fallen in pleasant places for me; truly, I have a beautiful heritage. Psalm 16:6

Welcome

This is an effort to establish an inherited, collective memory that women can use as a guide for training and teaching younger generations of women a biblical view of womanhood. This is a place for all Christian women, mothers, grandmothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, friends and neighbors. Start mentoring, start having younger women over for tea, teach them how to cook, how to sew, anything. Older women, take a younger woman under your wing and love her, disciple her.

So, what is a collective memory you ask? Simply put, a collective memory is all the stuff you wish was passed down to you from your great, great, great, grandmother. The stuff you hope to pass on to your daughter (children) and that you hope will be passed to each generation thereafter. It’s all the knowledge, wisdom, practical life skills, and history we have lost.

I hope we can start rebuilding our collective memory through:

  1. Articles: Reading, writing, and sharing meaningful articles through the Beautiful Heritage website.
  2. Literature: Reading and sharing good books and other resources.
  3. Traditions: Remembering, reestablishing, and observing traditions from the past.
  4. Community: Getting together with other women and sharing stories, skills, and wisdom.
  5. Inheritance: Passing on what we learn to future generations.

About Me

Hello,

My name is Jericha Brown and I am happy you are here! I am a stay-at-home wife and homeschool mom. I love to read, write, cook, design, basically, anything creative. I endeavor to make things a little bit more on earth as it is in heaven for my family, friends and anyone my life may touch.

I hope that every blog post will be a blessing with practical information to ground us in our Christian Heritage and relearn our American Heritage. I want every blog post to be meaningful and have resources to start building your inherited, collective memory to pass to the next generation.

Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.”
